Snake vs. Fish
A northern water snake attempts to eat a large golden shiner fish at Dunlap Lake in Edwardsville, IL
The snake swims carrying the fish.
On shore now. Notice the second snake doing guard duty while the first one tries to swallow the large fish.
Notice how the mouth stretches to accomodate the fish.
A lot to swallow. A couple hours later we returned to find the snake had given up and abandoned the fish on the rocks.
